The new choir history begins with a French program: psalm settings by the highly talented composer Lili Boulanger, who died at the age of 24, and her teacher Gabriel Fauré. The concert with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and renowned soloists centers on Fauré's gently comforting, hope-inspiring “Requiem,” which—uniquely in the history of requiem literature—praises death as a joyful entry into paradise.
